Crufts...p.s.

Here's a vid of the dog challenge I found, taken by someone else who was filming Harry (the ticket winner)...

and here's a vid taken by the same person of the BOB challange between the dog ticket winner Sh CH Janbell Jamieson JW (handled by Pete Simmons) and the bitch ticket winner AM CH Bayshore British Connection Avatar (handled by Eric Broadhurst)

A lot of deliberating!! lol

I find it very odd that Harry's handler doesn't give the dog a glance once he has the ticket in his hand! He just walks off to be congratulated by lots of folk while Harry is in the background on the end of his lead!

Yeh Jenny but Harry is an old show pro ;o)
I think there was a lot of expectation on them after they won Open Dog and Pete was just really relieved and elated to be awarded the ticket.

Very interesting video clips. I was surprised to see the 'open' rings, with the crowd being the 'ring'. Compared to the USA rings that are fenced or gated in. I actually had to have a look because the 'Bayshore' kennel name caught my eye. Frank Baylis 'Bayshore' is who I got my original Bluefaced Leicesters from. He had the only USA flock back in 1995. Thanks for the glimpse of the Crufts show.

Yes at Crufts there are chairs all round the ring for spectators and they effectively form the 'barrier' around the ring and also between the dog and bitch rings (entries are so high it takes one judge all day just to judge one sex so they split dogs and bitches); at most championship shows there is a rope marking the ring boundary.

Yes, Frank Bayliss certainly has his fingers in many different pies! lol I believe the Bayshore kennel actually bred the Crufts BOB winners in both Border Collies and Australian Shepherds this year...that's quite some achievement!
